JUNE 14, 2017 – Facility-level reporting of nine quality indicators for over 1200 long-term care homes across the country is publicly available through the Canadian Institute for Health Information’s YourHealthSystem reporting tool. Clear visuals and standardized data, combined with the ability to compare to peers and seek top performers allow care homes, regions and provinces to quickly and easily identify where they are doing well and where a closer look may be needed. Join CIHI for a look at how public reporting in long-term care is shedding light on the quality conversation and supporting the sector’s drive for improvement.
Presenter: Connie Paris, Manager, Home and Continuing Care, Canadian Institute for Health Information. Connie has been with the Canadian Institute for Health Information since 2004, working with a number of reporting systems, including Inpatient Rehabilitation, Inpatient and Community Mental Health, and now Home and Continuing Care. She has had the privilege of working closely with these sectors as they have met the challenge of collecting standardized, comparable information, and have evolved and improved through the use of that information. Most recently, Connie led the work to include quality indicator results for 1200 long-term care homes into CIHI’s Your Health System web tool. In a previous life, Connie practiced as a physiotherapist in a number of health sectors in both Canada and the US. She also holds a Master in Business Administration.
